About Me (Feel free to fill this out later)

I am the original and current drummer of the rock band Poison. I am a Black Belt in BJJ under Renato Magno.

I achieved my Purple belt under JJ Machado and Renato Magno at the Tarzana, CA Machado Bros. school. I was a Purple Belt for over 6 years until I finally achieved my Brown Belt. I trained privately with Renato and also did regular classes 3 times a week (minimum of 6 classes a week) I finally achieved Black Belt in December 2007 at Renato Magno's Street Sports BJJ in Santa Monica, CA. where I currently continue to train.

Holidays and diet...

Man, this is really a tough time of year for those of us who love to eat. Gotta stay focused and not overindulge. However, I'm not going to beat myself up too bad either. I'll just try to be mindful and know that when I get back to training after the holidays that I'll be a bit slower.

I'll use the fist method. Any portion I eat can't be any bigger than my fist. Lucky I have big hands!

Did my first tournament yesterday and took second in my belt class and first in my age division. Being 44 I was the oldest guy there and went against a guy 10 yrs younger and 40 lbs heavier. It went into sudden death overtime 9 1/2 minutes. What an experience. Speak to you soon.
